Major General of the Spanish Army. He has held command in all types of units of the Engineering Corps. He has also been Head of the School of Advanced Defense Studies, Head of the Division of Strategy and Military Cooperation and Head of the Strategy Section of the Joint Staff of Defense, Executive Director of the Anciens de NADEFCOL Association (2005-2014) and President of the Spanish Association of Military Writers (2019-2023). He has also given lectures in numerous courses and seminars related to international relations and has published more than three hundred articles on Geopolitics, Strategy, Security and Defense in different civil and military magazines and newspapers, especially in the Revista Ejército, where he has been awarded the Revista Ejército Prize four times. Currently, he is Vice President and Director of the Chair of Strategic Studies at the European Institute of International Studies and a Full Academician of the Academy of Military Sciences and Arts.
