Former Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces

Retired General of the Peruvian Army. During his 39 years of service, General Astudillo held important positions, including: Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces (2018-2021), Commanding General of the Army (2017-2018), Inspector General of the Army (2016-2017), Commanding General of the Special Command – VRAEM (2014 – 2015) and Commanding General of the 3rd Special Forces Brigade (2012-2013). Likewise, he is a Master in Administration by the Federico Villareal National University, lecturer, writer of columns in national newspapers, and author of five books on military actions with social impact. Currently, he is concluding the Doctorate in Development and Strategic Security by the Center for Higher National Studies. General Astudillo has extensive experience in defining strategies, planning and conducting operations against terrorists and drug trafficking, decision-making, problem-solving, and weapons systems.
